UK Sikh Bodies Condemn Indian Media for Relating Pathankot Terror Attack with the Sikhs

COVENTRY, England—In a statement shared with Sikh24, United Khalsa Dal’s general secretary Loveshinder Singh Dalewal and Bhai Joga Singh of Akhand Kirtani Jatha UK have strongly condemned Indian media’s attempts to relate the Panthankot terror incident with the Sikhs.  As per the statement, the Indian agencies were trying the defame Sikhs by blaming them for the Pathankot terror attack with intention to sledgehammer the freedom movement within Punjab.

Bhai Loveshinder Singh Dalewal said that the Sikhs don’t believe in violence and killing innocents, however, the community feels no restrain in retaliation.  He has said that the historic events from Sikh history testify the secular approach of the Sikhs in defending the needy and the meek.

Bhai Dalewal added that the Indian government was trying to oppress the growing movement for freedom within Punjab. He expressed suspicion that the propaganda of Government might become an obstacle for the march planned on January 10 which is being conducted in of Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara.

It may be recalled here that the name of Babbar Khalsa is being aired by the Indian media for chalking out the Pathankot terror attack.

  1. Sikhs need to be strong Nationalist in which ever Nations they live.

Indian Sikhs also need to be defend the continuous attempt being made at de -Sikhifying India and Denationalizing Indian Sikhs.

    • RSS ‘Harinder’ you didn’t address the accusation in this story that Indian agencies including the media are trying to defame the Sikh people by blaming them for the Pathankot attack in order to undermine Sikh self determination. Sikhs no matter where they are born or live elsewhere in the world are all part of the one Sikh Panth and as such have the right and duty to be involved maintaining Sikh sovereignty of the Sikh nation. I think you are trying to insinuate that NRI Sikhs (who you can then brand as the other and anti-national) should not have anything to do with the Sikhs here in India so that the Sikhs in India can be more easily subverted (as has happened with the RSS infiltration of both the Akali Ba-Dal and SGPC). The Sikh diaspora around the world is a vital organ of the Sikh homeland as can be seen in their absolutely necessary and dutiful participation in the Sarbat Khalsa (and indeed the Punjab and Central Government’s reactionary response to it by trying to accuse NRI Sikhs of sedition). The SIkhs are one Panth and One Nation no matter which country they are in and the likes of the RSS / Hinduvta mafia are not going to divide us.
As for de-Sikhifying India you might want to look at the Indian politicians, Sarkar, police and judiciary for the three decades plus discrimination and persecution they have perniciously been engaged in – you don’t brutalise a people then demand they should accept that as good citizens otherwise they are anti-national. That is the ‘know your place and be grateful for the scraps we throw from the table’ thinking that is completely unacceptable and alien to Sikh psyche.
