:dateline:Residents of village�Gharachon (Sangrur) have been campaigning to remove a�theka (liquor booth) from the bus stand.
It is becoming common for liquor booths to open in public places in Punjab. �In past few years, these types of small shops have come up almost in every corner in Punjab. �These villagers have been struggling to seek the theka removed from the bus stand, and�the Government has not paid any attention to their requests.
Manpreet Singh of village�Gharachon informed Sikh24 that villagers have been campaigning since April 1 to remove the theka.
Since these people started the dharna, the theka was forced to shut down temporarily. �However they are asking for a permanent closure.
