1. Get The Most Annoying Alarm Clock Money Can Buy
If you’re a deep sleeper waking up at Amritvela will be an even tougher challenge.

2. Have A Reason For Rising Early
Our reason to wake up at Amritvela is to Jap Naam and read Bani. We need to remind ourselves throughout the day that this is our main purpose of life. Reminding ourselves of this especially before going to sleep is essential, so when the alarm rings in the morning, we remember why we should be getting up. Bhagat Fareed Jee says:
????? ???? ???? ? ??????? ?????? ???????
?? ?? ??? ??????? ? ??? ? ?????????
Those that do not wake up at Amritvela are spiritually dead people. Vaahiguroo!

3. Kill The Snooze Button
The snooze button is literally the worst invention ever. Find a way to disable the snooze button or buy an alarm clock that doesnt feature it. Youll be much happier that you killed the snooze button since you wont have a choice but to get out of bed.

4. Tune Out Distractions Before Bed
The longer it takes you to fall asleep, the less sleep you get each night. Its a basic mathematical equation that many seem to forget.
Instead of watching television, or browsing the internet, do Simran or read a Shabad you have memorized. Start doing Jap Jee Sahib.

5. Light Dinner
Eating a heavy dinner at 9PM and expecting to sleep at 9:30 is not going to work. Eat a light dinner a few hours before going to sleep, and take a small walk to digest it.

6. The Power of Keertan Sohila and Ardaas
The night before do Keertan Sohila with full concentration and do Ardaas to Guru Sahib to wake you up himself. If the Ardaas is done from the heart Guru Sahib will no doubt wake you up!

7. Be Consistent
Consistency is key when trying to become an early riser.
Once you get into the habit of waking up early, it feels unnatural to wake up late. If youre consistent with your schedule and build it into a routine, youll adapt to it within no time at all.
