SRI FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—Former Hazoori Ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib and Chief of Sikh Sadbhawna Dal, Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala, is accusing the SGPC of participating in a property procurement scam. Bhai Wadala said that the SGPC owned 526 acres of land in District Fatehgarh Sahib, out of which, 114 acres had been given to farmers on lease.
He added that the SGPC purchased 51 additional acres of land there at the price of Rs. 4.6 million per acre, when the market rate of land at that time was Rs. 3 million per acre. He claims that there was an excess of 81.6 million rupees spent by the SGPC. Bhai Wadala stated that the scam took place at Kharora village near Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. He alleged that SGPC favored someone at the village when they acquired the land above the market price even though SGPC did not need any extra land in the area.
“If SGPC needed additional land, why did they not take back the land leased to others,” asked Bhai Wadala.
Bhai Wadala also claimed that the SGPC was allotting Rs. 104 crore yearly to Miri Piri Trust (Haryana), which directly works under Parkash Badal. He also said that the SGPC was planning to purchase 100 more acres of land in Anandpur Sahib. He alleged that SGPC may again overpay for the land to give favors to people.
Bhai Wadala asserted that his party would struggle against the misuse of financial resources of Gurdwaras by the SGPC. He announced that the Sikh Sadbhawna Dal would contest the upcoming SGPC elections independently. Bhai Wadala has been holding seminars across Punjab raising awareness of the different scams by the SGPC and appealing people to oust the current leadership and appoint fresh faces to look after SGPC Gurdwaras and institutions.
SGPC Chief Secretary Harcharan Singh refused to comment on allegations made by Bhai Wadala.
SGPC needs to have there accounts audited.
SGPC and the Badals and indeed every official in a public position of trust including the police need to have their bank accounts audited by international NGOs and overseas accountants.
During the times of the Guru Land was alotted to Gurdwaras even by Muslims but there are these Akali’s so called Sikhs actually taking it away – so true what Bhai Ji has revealed there is much more which the Badal’s own and take forecefully for their personal benefit. They do not want to protect Gurdwaras becuase they are Hindus inside and pretending to be Sikh but than Sukhbir has proved this only recently that he would prefer not to wear the turban and rather play with colours ….. everything they do is so clearly against Sikhi…..
Is there no depths to the depravity of the SGPC mahants? Pardons to heretic Ram Rahim, slander against Panj Pyare and Miri Piri principles, selling rooms in Amritsar designed for pilgrims for personal profit, sanctioning selling of drugs at Hola Mohalla, gilding doors with gold when Sikh farmers are commiting suicide and Sikh youth are drug addicted, now this latest land corruption deal involving misappropriation of golak monies to help its Badal patrons acquire more land for personal profit?! But no money to install CCTV in every Gurdwara in Punjab to stop beadbi of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and no financial support for Sikhs rights activists who have been imprisoned for the sake of the kaum?! The SGPC is like a festering sore and all that oozes from it is pus. It needs to be amputated before it infects the body of the Sikh Panth.
