Akal Takht honors Rajasthan Sikhs for their brave act of upholding Guru Sahib’s respect

The SGPC appointed officiating Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh today honored the Sikhs of Rajasthan for their brave act of recovering the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granthi Sahib Ji from a tomb situated in village 11G of Sri Ganganagar district. Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib’s Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh and Sri Harmandir Sahib’s head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh were also present on this occasion.

It may be recalled here that these Sikhs had recovered the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from village 11G while putting their lives in danger. After recovering from the custody of a person indulged in activities against the Sikh tenets, this holy saroop was respectfully sent to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Giani Harpreet Singh highly hailed these Sikhs for their bravery and commitment towards upholding the respect of living eternal Sikh master Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He said that the Sikh community will always remain thankful to these Sikhs for their brave act of recovering the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by ambushing into the house of the enemy.

It is pertinent to note here that these Sikhs were later arrested by the police and were charged under serious criminal charges of robbery and arms act but now all of them are out on bail.

Those who received the honor from Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh include Bibi Harmeet Kaur Khalsa, Babu Singh Morjand, Shivcharan Singh, Lovepreet Singh Brar, Sandeep Singh Sona, Nirmal Singh Kharlian, Gurjeet Singh Morjand, Dr. Paramjit Singh, Balkaran Singh Karni, Bapu Pal Singh, Bapu Naib Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Gurmail Singh, Balkaran Singh Khalsa, Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, Swarn Singh Fauji, Gurveer Singh Brar 12G, Harjinder Singh 11G, Santokh Singh Chahal Mohanpura etc.
