AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab: Making an important statement today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said the party face for Punjab assembly elections will be from Sikh community.

He was here to induct former Inspector General of Punjab Police Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh into party fold in presence of state party chief Bhagwant Mann, Delhi MLAs Jarnail Singh and Raghav Chadha and all Punjab MLAs.

Replying to query about the CM face of the party for the upcoming assembly polls, he said, “We are discussing yet about the CM face and the name is yet to be finalised. However, one thing I would like to clarify that the CM face will be from Sikhs”.

“Punjab is the only state in India where a Sikh can become the CM. This is right of the Sikhs and we will not deprive the community of exercising this right”, he added.
