400th Parkash Purab: Religious procession taken out in Amritsar

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In commemoration of the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, a religious procession was taken out today in the holy city Amritsar Sahib. Notably, the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji will be celebrated all over the world on May 1.

Beginning from the supreme Sikh throne Sri Akal Takht Sahib, this religious procession concluded at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mehal.

Giani Jagtar Singh, the head granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, performed the sewa of Chaur for the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji placed in the golden palanquin.

Scores of Gatka and Band parties participated in this religious procession while the sangat enchanted the name of Almighty Waheguru in this religious procession.

Although, the participation of the sangat was low due to Covid-19 restrictions but the present sangat had enthusiasm towards the celebration of the historic day.

Eminent Sikh personalities who attended the Nagar Kirtan included head of Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, head of Tarna Dal Baba Gajjan Singh, SGPC executive committee member Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, SGPC member Rajinder Singh Mehta, Bhai Manjit Singh Bhurakohna, Amarjit Singh Bandala and others.

Among the SGPC officials who attended the Nagar Kirtan were secretaries Mahinder Singh Ahli, Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna, Pratap Singh, assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Sakatar Singh, Simarjeet Singh, Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, Sri Darbar Sahib manager Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, OSD to SGPC president Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur, Dr Sukhbir Singh, Superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal and others.
