Sikh bodies to announce action program against HC ‘flawed’ judgement on April 27 at Mohali

SAHIBZADA AJIT SINGH NAGAR (Mohali), Punjab: Perturbed over the denial of justice in sacrilege cases, Sikh bodies and prominent personalities under the leadership of former Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh on Sunday (April 25, 2021) denounced the high Court judgement quashing the SIT report on Kotkapura firing incident in 2015.

Terming the HC judgement as political in nature, they held the Punjab government responsible for failing to defend the report in the court. They decided to announce the action program against the HC judgement on Tuesday during a press conference at Gurdwara Amb Sahib.

Punjab Ekta Party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira , who organized today’s meet, told the media that there is a strong emotion among Sikh Diaspora against the flawed judgement. He said this judgement has killed all hopes of justice in aggrieved family and community. The Punjab Govt has failed to do justice in all sacrilege related cases whether it’s Barghari or Behbal or Maur blast, said Khaira.

Dal Khalsa Spokesman Kanwar Pal Singh said it looks the judiciary and government was biased vis-a-vis sacrilege related cases. Taking exception, he said the judge has accused the SIT head Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh of preparing the report keeping in mind his post-retirement political settlement. “It looks the judge has given the said judgement keeping in mind his post retirement political settlement, ” said he.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting includes Hardeep Singh Dibdiba, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Ranjit Singh Talwandi, Gaini Kewal Singh, Khushal Singh, Ajaypal Singh Brar, Harjinder Singh Majhi, Sukhraj Singh Behbal Kalan, Paramjit Singh Tanda and two MLA’s Jagdev Singh Kamalu and Pirmal Singh Khalsa.
