CHANDIGARH, Punjab—A Moga based youth farmer Ramandeep Singh has revealed that he and his friends were arrested by the police on January 26 when they were searching for back route to return to their camps after participating in the tractor parade. Resident of village Tatariye Wala (Moga), Ramandeep Singh is finally out on bail after facing five week-long imprisonment.

Speaking to Sikh24’s correspondent Papalpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh said that he and his friends were arrested from Peeragarhi at 04:30 pm. “They had taken all of us to Mangolpuri police station where they interrogated us. When we asked them, we forget the back route to our camps, and then they asked us to wait for the SHO,” he added.

He further informed that they kept on waiting for their release, but the police indicted them on January 27 in an FIR registered under section 307 and 13 other sections of IPC.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Delhi police arrested 11 youth farmers of village Tatariye Wala on January 26, and all of them got released on bail on March 2.

“We didn’t commit any crime, but Delhi police charged us with an attempt to murder,” he said.
