SGPC is set to commemorate the 400th Prakash Purab of the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, on a large scale. SGPC has now announced efforts to establish connections with all prominent Sikh organizations across Punjab and neighboring states in order to collect feedback and ensure the celebrations can be held at a grand scale.

Another meeting will be held with the Malwa region leaders on March 13 at Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib.

“We are ensuring participation from all Sikh organizations. Hence, our plan is to meet with various organizations from the districts of Majha and Doaba, namely Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, and Jalandhar districts. Another meeting will be held with those belonging to the Malwa, which include the regions Patiala, Ludhiana, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Moga, Sangrur, Mansa, Ropar, Barnala, Fazilka, Mohali. This meeting will be held at Gurdwara Sri Dukh Niwaran Sahib in Patiala.”

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir ‘Kaur’ said that the main function on the occasion of the centenary celebrations would be held on May 1, 2021, in Sri Amritsar.

It should be noted that the SGPC had earlier announced that it would not be extending an invitation to the India Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take part in the celebrations.
