In an exclusive interview with Sikh24, arrested farmer leader Mohinder Singh Khalsa’s wife Bibi Tirath Kaur has said that the Delhi police have falsely framed her husband in an FIR about January 26’s incident. “My husband exercised his right to stand in support of farmers’ agitation in a purely democratic manner,” she said.
She has revealed that the Sanyukt Kisaan Morcha didn’t pay any attention to her husband’s arrest, but DSGMC president Manjinder Singh is extending every kind of help to them.
Bibi Tirath Kaur said that the local Assistant Deputy Commissioner didn’t fulfill his promises that he had made to them while requesting to lift the strike.
“If the administration doesn’t fulfill its promise shortly, we would be forced come on roads to get justice,” she added.
She has also asked the Indian government to accept the demands of agitating farmers so that they could go back to their homes.
The Delhi police arrested Mohinder Singh Khalsa during the intervening night of February 22 and 23. Another young farmer activist Mandeep Singh was also arrested along with Mohinder Singh Khalsa, and they were taken to Delhi.
