Farmers’ Protest: Another youth leader loses life while returning home from Delhi

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The ongoing farmers’ agitation against the three controversial farm laws today faced a major loss when a protesting farmer youth named Kuldeep Rai lost his life in an accident while traveling back to his village. Kuldeep Rai was the senior vice president of the Kisaan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee’s Shahkot zone.

He was 28 years old and served at the farmers’ protest site in Delhi since February 5.

Sources have informed that Kuldeep Rai died after falling from the tractor near village Vadda Rudka around 11:30 am today.

His mortal remains will be consigned to the flames in his village Talwandi Sanghera’s crematorium at 1 pm on February 23.

To date, around 200 farmers have lost lives in this ongoing agitation against three controversial farm laws, but the ruling BJP government is still maintaining a stubborn attitude towards the farmers.

Besides this, around 150 farmers have been booked by the Delhi police under serious criminal charges to bring down the morale of protesting farmers.
