AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Today, the SGPC held a religious event at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall of Sri Darbar Sahib to celebrate Bibi Bhani Ji’s birth anniversary. In this sacred event, Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Gurdev Singh recited Gurbani Kirtan following Sri Akhand Path Sahib’s culmination while Bhai Prem Singh performed Ardas.
In Sikh history, Bibi Bhani Ji has the honor of being a daughter of Guru Amar Dass Ji, Guru Ram Dass Ji, mother of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, grandmother of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, and great grandmother of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
On this occasion, Kathawachak Bhai Harmitar Singh shed light on Bibi Bhani Ji’s life and encouraged the sangat to values her life.
He said that Bibi Bhani Ji’s whole life was dedicated to the teachings of Guru Sahib, and it was full of virtues like Sewa (service), Simran (remembrance of God), Sanjam (temperance), etc. Bhai Harmitar Singh appealed to the Sikh women to strive to connect their children with Gursikhi following Bibi Bhani Ji’s life teachings.
