Lawyers voluntarily extend legal aid to Deep Sidhu arrested by Delhi Police

As actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu was arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police as a prime accused in case of incidents in Delhi on January 26, he is getting the support of different quarters. Lawyers have also come out to provide him legal aid.

Through a video shared on Facebook, advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said, “Punj-Aab Lawyers organization has decided to provide all kinds of legal assistance to Sidhu in fighting the case registered against. Delhi Police.”

He said advocate Paramjit Singh who is a member of the organization and does legal practice in Karkardooma, will appear in the court as legal counsel of Sidhu. He said the lawyers associated with this organization are committed to helping those victimized by the state.

Meanwhile, a group of four persons who are introducing themselves as lawyers is also seen announcing to extend the legal aid to Sidhu in another video shared on social media.

Meanwhile, it has been learned that Tees Hazari Court, where Sidhu was produced today, has granted his seven-day remand to the Police.

The Delhi Police registered a case against unknown persons under sections of rioting, assaulting public servants, attempt to murder, dacoity, and criminal conspiracy, along with other sections of the IPC in the matter. Sections under the Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act 1971 were added to the FIR later.
