SGPC to mark martyrdom centenary of Shaheed Baba Hazara Singh and Shaheed Baba Hukam Singh

TARN TARAN, Punjab—The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is going to mark the 100th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Baba Hazara Singh and Shaheed Baba Hukam Singh in village Aladinpur on January 27 and 28. Notably, Shaheed Baba Hazara Singh and Shaheed Baba Hukam Singh were the first martyrs of Gurdwara Reform Movement who had laid their lives to get Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran liberated from the Mahants.

Keeping in view the sacrifice of these martyrs, SGPC members, officials, and eminent Sikh personalities of Tarn Taran area underwent a meeting on January 4 to make this religious event memorable.

In a press shared with Sikh24, SGPC’s Dharam Prachar Committee member Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhiasi has revealed that the Singh Sahibans, Jathedars of Sikh Takhts, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and other eminent Sikh personalities will attend the two days religious event to be held in memory of the duo martyrs.

“The Sikh preachers, Dhadis, Kavishari Jathas serving in Dharam Prachar Committee are active to create awareness among the local Sikh masses about these religious events to be held in tribute to the martyrdom centenary of these great martyrs,” he added. 

Former SGPC president Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke, Dharam Prachar Committee member Bhai Ajaib Singh Abhiasi, SGPC member Khushwinder Singh Bhatia, Vice Secretary Simranjit Singh, Head Preacher Bhai Jagdev Singh, Bhai Gurbachan Singh Kalsian, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran S. Kuldeep Singh, Preacher Bhai Lakhmir Singh Kakka Kandiala, Bhai Dilbag Singh Sabhra, Bhai Tejpal Singh, Bhai Gursewak Singh, Bhai Massa Singh Sabhra, Dharwinder Singh Manochahal, Vice Manager Shamsher Singh, Nirmal Singh Kahlwan, Rasal Singh Soorwind, Dilbag Singh, Lovepreet Singh Muradpur etc. were present in this meeting.
