AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab— After a long time, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has reproduced valuable articles written by the legendary Sikh thinker, philosopher, and statesman late Sirdar Kapur Sahib by compiling them in a single volume.

This collection has been published under the title ‘Sikhs and Sikhism’ and will be distributed among the sangat for free. These articles by Sirdar Kapur Singh were published by the SGPC in the form of tracts a long time ago.

The writings of Sirdar Kapur Singh, who was awarded the National Professor of Sikhism by the Akal Takht Sahib in 1973, are read enthusiastically by Sikh intellectuals, researchers, and devotees.

The published book contains nine articles on Gurbani, history, Gurmat principles, and Sikh living.

SGPC president Jagir ‘Kaur’ while releasing the book, said, “Sirdar Kapur Singh was an enlightened thinker and writer of the Sikh community who made a great contribution to Sikh literature through his original writings.”

On this occasion, OSDs Amrik Singh and Sukhbir Singh, deputy secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, assistant secretary Simarjit Singh Kang, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, in-charge of Literature Department Gurmeet Singh were present.

Notably, Gurmeet Singh made persistent efforts to get this book published.

Sirdar Kapur Sahib was a member of the drafting committee of the Anandpur Sahib resolution. He drafted this resolution with his own hands. This resolution was adopted by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). As a political aim of the Sikhs in India, this resolution has been guiding the Sikh struggle since then.
