December 15 – Updates from Farmers Protest: Bhai Ranjit Singh Jathedar Addresses the Protestors

1. Five farmers passed away today. A farmer’s trolley heading to village Safera (Patiala) from Delhi met with an accident early this morning on GT road near Travri Haryana. Two farmers Laabh Singh & Gurpreet Singh died on the spot & many others are injured. One in critical condition.
2. Another accident was reported near village Bhago Majra, Kharar in Mohali area. Two farmers- Sukhdev Singh and Deep Singh – succumbed to injuries in the accident.
3. Another farmer Makhan Khan from village Bhinder Kalan has passed away. He had no land but was active in farmers’ protests since August according to Sarpanch Jagseer Singh Of village. Makhan Khan used to sell milk, he had three cows.
4. ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers Of Commerce Of India) has called for early resolution of farmers’ issues, stating “farmers’ protest resulting in a daily loss of Rs. 3,500 crores”.
5. BJP leader Harjit Grewal was heckled in Punjab and he escaped through back door. He had gone to promote the bill.
6. A Contingent of 2000 women majorly the families of protesting farmers will be joining farmers today at the Singhu border.
7. Balbir Rajewal had to tender an apology to the Sikh people for his controversial statements yesterday.
8. Following his statement, Lakha Sidhana, appealed to the Sikh masses to give Rajewal a chance to apologize and explain his statement. He appealed to the masses, especially social media influencers to refrain from posting statements to get likes. “The situation is very sensitive and we feel our struggle is at its peak, at this point, everyone should watch out before giving any statements.”
9. Deep Sidhu said the Nishan Sahibs will not be removed. “While we respect all religions and faiths, the Nishan Sahib provides sovereignty to the Sikhs. There is no way we can part away from our sovereignty.”
10. Former Jathedar Ranjit Singh addressed the morcha with a message to stay United and focused on the endpoint.
11. Farmers watched the historical movie “Amar Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji”. The open airs cinemas play a different Sikh movie every night at Singhu Border.
12. While the Godi media tries to defame the Farmer protests, the reality is today the farmers were donating blood to local hospitals in Delhi.

15. 20th day of morcha will be marked as Remembrance Day for all the farmers who have given their life during this 20 day struggle. All the farmers will be remembered at the district level by protesting farmers. 11am-2pm will be dedicated to shaheeds of morcha.
16. Farmer leaders said – Unity of Punjab & Haryana irks centre because their entire politics is based on divide rule. They should come and see how BJP is treated in Haryana.
17. Haryana BJP leader has said that SYL is unresolved, the statement purely made to divide people of Haryana and Punjab.
18. The BJP IT cell convener from Rajpura has resigned citing malicious hate campaigns against Sikhs as the reason.

31. As many as 245 Sikh farmers from Punjab&Haryana who own land in Kutch been fighting a legal battle for 10 yrs after the state govt froze the records of their land, stating they cannot own agricultural land in Gujarat since they’re not native of the state.
