Bhai Harjinder Singh (Sri Nagar Wale) Tests Positive for COVID-19

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Bhai Maninder Singh, brother of Bhai Harjinder Singh (Sri Nagar Wale) confirmed that his brother has tested positive for COVID-19. Bhai Maninder Singh said that Bhai Harjinder Singh’s condition is stable.

“I am currently in Canada but I spoke with Bhai Sahib earlier today. His condition is stable and we are expecting that he will be discharged from the hospital in a few days,” Bhai Maninder Singh said in a statement online.

“We appreciate that the Sikh Sangat has been doing ardas for Bhai Sahib over the past several years. Our ardas to Waheguru is that our worldly journey completes while doing kirtan,” he added.

Bhai Maninder Singh said that he and his brother support the ongoing farmers protests going on outside Delhi. He said his brother wishes to take part in his protests but he has not been able to due to his illness. “I have also been stuck here in Canada, otherwise I would have surely taken part,” he said.

Bhai Harjinder Singh is a renowned raagi who has done kirtan since 1980. Bhai Sahib started his kirtan career in 1980 at Sri Nagar. He formed a jatha with his younger brother Bhai Maninder Singh. They performed at Sri Nagar for 3 years and then came to Ludhiana in 1983. There they performed at Sabji Mandi Gurdwara. This was where the Sikh sagat started calling him Sri Nagar Wale.
