Pray for the Chardi Kla of struggling farmers, Akal Takht directs Sikhs ahead of Gurpurab

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has directed the entire Sikh community to offer prayers for the high morale of agitating farmers on the eve of the 551st Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Sahib. Notably, the 551st Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Sahib is going to be celebrated worldwide tomorrow.

Giani Harpreet Singh has said that prayers should be offered before the Almighty Lord seeking good sense for those ruling India these days. “On this auspicious day, we should seek the blessings of the Almighty Lord for the farmers agitating against draconian laws and their savior from brutal torture of state,” he added.

Giani Harpreet Singh has also condemned the indictment of Punjabi youth Navdeep Singh under the attempt to murder charges just because he turned off the water cannons.

Religious procession taken out in Amritsar

On November 28, a religious procession was taken out in Amritsar in commemoration of the 551st Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Sahib.

Under the patronage of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the leadership of Punj Piares, this religious procession started from Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Sri Darbar Sahib’s head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh performed the sewa of Chaur Sahib for the holy saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

The Sikh sangat enchanted the name of the Almighty Lord during this procession while locals welcomed the procession by offering tea, sweets, fruits etc. to express their devotion towards Guru Sahib.

Various band parties, Shabad Chaunki Jathas, and Gatka parties enthusiastically participated in this procession.
