Portrait of Baba Kartar Singh installed in Central Sikh Museum

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—On October 23, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee installed the portrait of Baba Kartar Sngh Bariaran Wale in the central Sikh museum. Sri Darbar Sahib’s head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh unveiled the portrait of Baba Kartar Singh Bariaran Wale following a brief religious function in which a Hazoori Raagi Jatha performed Gurbani Kirtan and Bhai Gurcharan Singh performed Ardas.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Giani Jagtar Singh said that the central Sikh museum is a treasure trove of Sikh history. “The portraits of only those blessed souls come up in the central Sikh museum, who laid their lives for the high spirit of Sikhism,” he said while adding that the life of Baba Kartar Singh was an inspiration for the Sikhs.

Singh Sahib Giani Jaswant Singh, SGPC’s general secretary Harjinder Singh Dhami, SGPC member Bhai Manjit Singh and SGPC’s additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhoora Kohna also shed light on the contribution made by Baba Kartar Singh in preaching Sikhism.

The family members of Baba Kartar Singh Bariaran Wale were honored with Siropaos (robe of honor) on this occasion.

SGPC’s former senior vice president Rajinder Singh Mehta, junior vice president Gurbakhsh Singh Khalsa, SGPC members Bhai Ram Singh, Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Jathedar Kashmir Singh Bariar etc. were also present on this occasion.
