Antim Ardas for Giani Sukhjinder Singh held in Amritsar

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Antim Ardas for Sri Darbar Sahib’s granthi Giani Sukhjinder Singh was held in Amritsar Sahib on October 16 which was attended by eminent Sikh personalities including various Singh Sahibans, Sikh leaders and chiefs of various organizations.

Notably, Giani Sukhjinder Singh had passed away on October 7 after being diagnosed with blood cancer a month ago. He had refused to undergo chemotherapy as one of the side effects is hair loss.

Following the culmination of Sehaj Path, Hazoori Raagi Jathas performed Gurbani Kirtan after which Granthi Singh read the sacred Hukamnama.

Addressing the Sikh sangat on this occasion, Sri Darbar Sahib’s head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh said that Giani Sukhjinder Singh was a calm, temperate and patient personality who spent his whole life while adhering to Sikh principles and code of conduct.

SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal also hailed the personality of Giani Sukhjinder Singh in their condolences messages.

SGPC’s additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhoora Kohna performed the sewa of stage secretary on this occasion.

Giani Sukhjinder Singh’s son Bhai Paramdeep Singh was given Dastaars by the SGPC, Akal Takht and various other organizations.
