Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal Officially Resigns as Sarbat Khalsa Appointed Jathedar

In a press statement shared with Sikh24, Bhai Baljit Singh Daudwal, the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedar of Damdama Sahib, made the following statement –

“For the last 25 years, the Sikh sangat situated worldwide has given me much respect for Dharam Prachar and standing up for Sikh rights. I am a humble Sikh of Guru Granth Sahib and on November 10, 2015, at village Chabba, I was appointed at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib’s Jathedar by the Sarbat Khalsa. Since then, I have attempted to provide services to the Panth, despite many tactics by the Government to silence me.

The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Committee’s General House had now elected me as the acting Jathedar in July 2020. For the past 6 years, I had been a working member of this committee. However, now I have been chosen as the president of the committee with the approval of all its members.

I had appealed to the whole Sarbat Khalsa Panth that the position of Damdama Sahib Jathedar is very superior when compared to the post of HSGPC President. I have resolved to take up the seva of HSGPC presidency. I appeal to the Sarbat Khalsa Panth that they should elect another Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.”
