Prominent Sikh Activist Who Served Coronavirus Patients in Rajasthan Tests Positive for COVID-19

SRI GANGANAGAR, Rajasthan—The coronavirus report of Rajasthan based Sikh activist Tejinderpal Singh Timma has come positive today. It is noteworthy here that the Tejinderpal Singh Timma has been actively offering relief services to the needy people since the imposition of lockdown in India.

Speaking to Sikh24, Tejinderpal Singh Timma informed that he experienced fever along with cough during the evening hours of August 15. “On August 16, I gave my samples for checking of COVID-19’s presence, and today my test report has come positive,” he said.

From the past few days, Tejinderpal Singh Timma was continuously conveying the relief material to COVID-19 patients by personally visiting their wards.

In the early 1980’s, Tejinderpal Singh Timma was an active member of the All India Sikh Students Federation. He was arrested from Sri Darbar Sahib by the Indian army during June 1984’s holocaust after which he remained confined in Jodhpur jail for about five years.

During his whole imprisonment period in Jodhpur jail, he shared the same cell with Shaheed Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu, who at one time was the General Secretary of the All India Sikh Student Federation and considered a top ally of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

After the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu, Timma adopted the path of serving humanity through charitable work.
