Gobind Ramayan: Sikhs stage protest against Narendra Modi For Misleading Remarks

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Khalsa League and Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara Committee today staged a protest in the holy city, Sri Amritsar Sahib, against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his misleading statement that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had written a scripture titled “Gobind Ramayan”. Notably, Modi had given this statement on the inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir on August 5.

“Neither Guru Gobind Singh Ji wrote any ‘Gobind Ramayan’ nor he worshipped the Hindu Lord Rama,” said Bhai Amrik Singh Ballowal while adding that Guru Sahib stopped Sikhs from worshipping Hindu deities.

Asking the Indian PM Narendra Modi to apologize for his statement, Ballowal said that Modi needed insight into Sikh history before trying to mislead Sikhs. “Modi should get ready to face the Sikh ire if he doesn’t apologize for his statement,” he added.

“The RSS is trying to assimilate Sikhs in Hinduism because the RSS leaders know it very well that the Sikhs are an obstruction in the implementation of their fascist ideology,” said Ballowal.

Recalling the Indian Supreme Court’s biased approach in Babri Masjid case, Ballowal said that the Indian Supreme Court had cited Guru Nanak Sahib’s visit to Ayodhya for backing up the claims of Hindus over Babri Masjid’s land but why the Sikh shrines situated at other places visited by Guru Nanak Sahib, like Har Ki Pauri and Mangu Mutt, have been demolished.

Bhai Mand asks Modi to apologize within 15 days or get ready to face backlash

On August 12, the Sarbat Khalsa appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar also took on Indian PM Narendra Modi and former Takht Sri Patna Sahib’s Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh for terming Sikhs as descendants of Luv-Kush.

While ordering the Indian PM Narendra Modi to revoke his statement and tender an apology within 15 days, Jathedar Mand has directed the Sikhs to lodge complaints against Narendra Modi under section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code.

Bhai Mand said that he has summoned Giani Iqbal Singh to Sri Akal Takht Sahib on August 20 to present his side.
