Deep Sidhu Questions SGPC’s Integrity in Case of Missing Guru Granth Sahib’s Saroops

—Raising questions over the integrity of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in case of missing 267 holy saroops of Guru Granth Sahib from its record, Actor Deep Sidhu apprehended that the saroops might have been sent to Nagpur and thorough probe must be conducted into this matter.

Headquarters of the Hindu extremist organization RSS is situated at Nagpur.

Reacting on his apprehension, the SGPC president Gobind Singh hit out at him. Terming it as false propaganda against the SGPC, Longowal announced to take action against him for defaming the organization that manages the historic gurdwaras in north India.

After the reaction of the SGPC, Sidhu again surfaced through Facebook live. He said, “You are the reason behind what we say about the problems of Panth. We are not satisfied with the prevailing system in the Sikhs and it needs to be changed and reformed. The problems being faced by Panth have not been created by us, but you. As their custodian, you should be answerable to any of the Sikhs, who raises questions on your functioning.”

“If we question the political situation, we are attacked in the name of nationalism and face allegations that we are making policies against the country and its disintegration. In this case, they implicate sedition like laws on us. If we ask any question on Panthik issues, we are tagged as anti-panthik,” he pointed out.

He added, “If you don’t stop creating social terror by shutting our voices, how could a truth come to fore? We may lack knowledge on religious ethos, but have true panthik sentiments.”
