SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Officially Invited to Ram Mandir Inauguration in Ayodhya

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—On August 4, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust (SRJTKT) reached Akal Takht Secretariat to invite the SGPC appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh for the inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir scheduled for August 5. RSS leader Sanjeev Singh gave a formal invitation letter signed by SRJTKT’s general secretary Champat Rai to the assistants of Akal Takht Jathedar.

In the invitation letter, the Akal Takht Jathedar was requested to reach Ayodhya by August 4’s evening.

Sikh24’s internal sources close to the Jathedar have revealed that the Giani Harpreet Singh won’t attend this inauguration ceremony keeping in view the Sikh sentiments. Sikh organizations across Punjab and other parts of the world have been appealing Takht Jathedars to remain distanced from the inauguration ceremonies of the Ram Mandir.

It is pertinent to note here that there is a widespread outrage among Sikhs over the Indian Supreme Court’s biased act of using an unaccepted “Janam Sakhi” for portraying Guru Nanak Sahib’s visit to Ayodhya with an intention to create the ground for giving the entire land of Babri Masjid to Hindus.

In its annual general meeting, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee had passed a resolution condemning Indian Supreme Court’s verdict over Babri Masjid.

Sikhs Respect Hindus as well as Muslims Equally: Bhai Dhian Singh Mand

The Sarbat Khalsa appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh Mand has also broken the silence and directed the Sikhs to not attend the inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Notably, the Hindu leaders have been making efforts to ensure the presence of Sikhs during the inauguration ceremony of Ram Mandir being established after demolishing Babri Masjid.

Bhai Dhian Singh Mand has said that there are possibilities of violent clashes in Ayodhya so every Sikh should avoid visiting Ayodhya. “We, the Sikhs, respect Hindus as well as Muslims equally and will even act as an intermediate between these two communities if the need arises,” he said.
