Finally, Sikh philanthropist Navtej Singh Gugu gets bail

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Sikh philanthropist Navtej Singh Gugu has been granted bail by the Court in a case registered against him by the Batala police. Notably, Navtej Singh Gugu was booked under  sections 353, 186, 427, and 148 of the IPC by the police cops for “obstructing them to carry out a search in his hospital.”

Interacting with media, Navtej Singh Gugu thanked the activists who raised voice against his arrest. “I don’t have any grudge on my arrest, but my heart goes out to those huge numbers of patients who couldn’t avail medical services due to sealing of my hospital,” he said.

Gugu further said that he was committed to continuing his pro-humanitarian services without any fear. “If the administration doesn’t remove the restrictions on my hospital the I will start offering medical services to the needy people by erecting tents,” he added.
