SGPC marks 181st death anniversary of world’s best ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee today marked the 181st death anniversary of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. A religious program was organized in which Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Rai Singh performed Gurbani Kirtan following completion of Sri Akhand Patth Sahib while Bhai Prem Singh performed Ardas.

Kathavachak Bhai Harmittar Singh shed light on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh while explaining how he succeeded in uniting all the Sikh Misals for the establishment of Sikh regime with his far-sightedness.

All the persons were treated equally in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s regime irrespective of religion, caste, or creed.

Earlier this year, the BBC had conducted a survey in which Maharaja Ranjit Singh was accepted as ‘World’s Best Ruler’. His regime outshined the regimes of American President Abraham Lincoln, UK’s Queen Elizabeth, Amílcar Cabral, and Winston Churchill.
