SGPC and DSGMC condemn thrashing of Sikh youth by UP’s mobsters

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has strongly condemned the brutal thrashing of Sikh youth Gurwinder Singh by a mob of Sherpur villagers in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. The SGPC has asked the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to ensure justice for the victim Sikh youth while playing a transparent role.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has revealed that he has sent a team under the leadership of UP Sikh Mission’s incharge Bhai Brijpal Singh to help the victim. “I will also take up this issue with the Minorities Commission,” he added.

DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa has also condemned the incident. He has informed that the DSGMC was building up pressure on the UP police to arrest the mobsters. “The victim Sikh youth Gurwinder Singh has been called by the Superintendent Police to record his statement,” he said while adding that the mobsters will get arrested soon.
