CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Congress led Punjab government is getting exposed with time over its high promises to bring the sacrilege culprits to justice. The sacrilege culprits are being provided security cover while the requests of witnesses of sacrilege cases for security cover are being rejected despite facing attacks in broad daylight.
In a recent move the Punjab government has turned down the request of witness Sewak Singh Fauji demanding security cover as he was attacked multiple times during the past few years.
Sewak Singh Fauji, who is the main witness of Mallke sacrilege incident occurred in 2015, informed that he had approached the Punjab CM and DGP for security cover, but his request was turned down. “I am continuously facing threats by the sacrilege culprits since long. During the past, they also attacked my house, but still the government is not taking my request seriously,” he added.
Instead of providing security to Sewak Singh, the Punjab government has reinstated the security cover of Sirsa cult affiliated main sacrilege culprits Amardeep and Mithu Mann on June 4 which was earlier revoked due to lockdown. Another main sacrilege culprit Prithi (Baghapurana) has been continuously enjoying Punjab police’s security cover for long.
The real face of Captain led Punjab government has ultimately come to fore with this incident. The chief accused of sacrilege incidents are being protected by the police while the main witnesses of sacrilege incidents are being forced to risk their lives by rejecting their requests for security cover.
In November-2015, the sacred Angs of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were found scattered in the streets of village Mallke (Moga).
In a report submitted to the Court in January-2019, the SIT headed by DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra had informed the Court that the instructions to commit sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji came from Sirsa cult’s headquarters. The SIT had further informed the Court that the sacrilege culprits Amardeep and Mithu were properly instructed to scatter the torn “Angs” of desecrated saroop.
“Culprits Satta and Davinder made the arrangements to steal corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Prithi was their head who received direct instructions from the Sirsa cult’s headquarters,” read the SIT report.
