Portrait of Sikh Olympiad Balbir Singh to be installed in Central Sikh Museum

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has announced to install the portrait of Sikh hockey player Balbir Singh Senior in the central Sikh museum. Notably, 96-year-old three-time Olympic gold-medalist Balbir Singh Senior had died on May 25 in Mohali. 

Sharing the development with media, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal said that Balbir Singh Senior’s life was an inspiration for the Sikh youths. “We have decided to install Balbir Singh Senior’s portrait in the central Sikh museum as a token of respect so that the upcoming generations could get inspired from him,” he added.
