No religious procession this year on Sirhind Fateh Diwas

:dateline:The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has clarified that no religious procession will be held this year on the eve of Sirhind Fateh Diwas due to prevailing circumstances. Notably, the SGPC takes out a religious procession from Gurdwara Chaparchiri to Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh every year on Sirhind Fateh Diwas, i.e. on May 12.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has informed that the religious function will be held on Sirhind Fateh Diwas in which Raagi Singhs will address religious discourse following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib. Sri Akhand Path Sahib will begin on May 10 at Gurdwara Sahib (Chapparchiri) and will be culminated on May 12. At Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Sri Akhand Path Sahib will begin on May 12 and will be culminated on May 14, he added.

Longowal further informed that the proceedings of the religious ceremony will be broadcasted directly from Gurdwara Sahib (Chaparchiri) and only SGPC members along with required staff will be able to attend this program while following directions of the Health Department.
