:dateline:Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu has slammed India media for targeting Sikh pilgrims by accusing them of spreading coronavirus in Punjab. He has said that the Indian media was hiding the government’s failure by giving a communal angle to this episode.
“None of the pilgrims depicted any symptom of Covid-19 despite getting checked thrice in Nanded then how come they start testing positive in Punjab,” he questioned while expressing apprehensions about fault in the procedure followed to bring these pilgrims back to Punjab.
Deep Sidhu has said that it was the government’s duty to test and quarantine all the pilgrims when they entered into Punjab but the government didn’t follow any standard procedure and let them go to their homes. “Now, the government as well as national media has turned up with communal propaganda to defame Sikhs,” he added.
