:dateline:Observing inaction against the former SHO of Khanna police station for humiliating three Sikhs, including an Amritdhari Sikh Jagpal Singh Jogi and his son, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has written a letter to the Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta seeking action against the guilty SHO.
It is noteworthy here that an old video of three Sikhs had surfaced recently in which trio of them were shot standing nude in Khanna�s Sadar Police station. Jagpal Singh Jogi, his son and a servant were arrested by SHO Baljinder Singh in relation to a land dispute in June-2019. This video was shot at the behest of SHO Baljinder Singh with an intention of humiliating these persons.
SGPC�s chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh has said that humiliating a father and son in front of each other was a stigma on humanity, so such cops should be addressed exemplary punishment. �Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal had sought Punjab CM�s intervention in this issue two weeks ago but no action has been taken yet besides making attempts to suppress the issue by transferring guilty SHO,� he added.
Sant Samaj and Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has also sought Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh�s intervention in this issue while seeking justice for the victims. He has sought indictment of SHO Baljinder Singh for committing inhuman torture on three Sikhs as well as for disrespecting their Kakaars.
