SGPC announces special benefits for the personnel battling at forefront in Covid-19 pandemic

  • The children of police cops, mediapersons, and health workers will get benefit of free Paramedical courses
  • This facility will be provided for near about dozen of courses at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to provide free Paramedical courses at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences (Amritsar) to the children of health staff, media, police and related to other services who are doing the services at the forefront during Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking to Sikh24, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal said that at the time of current crisis, doctors, police, staff nurses, health workers, media and other personnel are serving at forefront while putting their lives in danger. So, the SGPC has come up with a special package for the children of these professionals.

“No fee will be taken for entire course during the year 2020-2021 from the children of these personnel who will be enrolled in the paramedical courses running at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical University.  The Para-medical courses, which will be provided free of cost by the SGPC are Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Anaesthesia Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Operation Theater Technology, Cath Lab Technology, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Radiology and Imaging Technology etc,” he added.

Longowal further said that the children of the personnel providing services of people welfare will be able to get degree as well as diploma in these courses without any cost. 

Appreciating the personnel serving in the time of current crisis, Longowal said that it is our duty to stand with police, health, media, cleaning staff personnel.
