Gangster launches attack on Sikh activist’s home, passes death threats but no FIR even after 3 days

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—On April 18, around a dozen hooligans headed by Hindu gangster Prahlad Talwar ambushed onto Sikh activist Navdeep Singh’s home in Amritsar during late evening hours. They damaged Navdeep Singh’s households by hurling petrol bomb, stones alongwith swearing the family members in an extremely vulgar language.

Speaking to Sikh24, Navdeep Singh informed that Prahlad Talwar knocked his home’s door at around 10 pm on April 18 and when his mother opened the door, Prahlad Talwar ambushed into home along with 10-11 other hooligans. “All of them damaged our property and used abusing language against our family members,” he added.

Interestingly, all this didn’t stop till attack. Gangster Prahlad Talwar also sent death threats to Navdeep Singh and his family members via Facebook shortly after the incident. In these deaths threats, he said he will kill each male member of Navdeep Singh’s family and only women will be left behind to wail loudly.

“I will take off your turbans along with me,” he further wrote in threatening message.

In a separate Facebook post, which he removed later, Prahlad Talwar also posted photos of Navdeep Singh’s home after attack and wrote that this was just a trailer, picture is yet to come.

Navdeep Singh informed that he immediately lodged a complaint in City’s D-Division Police Station but no action has been taken against the gangster Prahlad Talwar even after three days of incident.

What does curfew means in Amritsar?

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh had imposed curfew in whole state last month and it’s in effect till date.

But the question here arises that does this curfew is meant to stop only day to day activities of common citizens?

It won’t be an underestimation that the prevailing law and order condition in Punjab holds full privilege for the gangsters to commit crimes and the Police department is bound to see them as a mute spectator.

On visiting Prahlad Talwar’s Facebook profile, a live video could be seen on his profile in which he celebrated someone’s birthday alongwith scores of other hooligans while violating the section 144 of Cr.P.C.
