SGPC to install Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa’s portrait in Central Sikh Museum

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The Antim Ardas for the spiritual peace of Raagi Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsawas held at Gurdwara Sri Bibeksar Sahib on April 19. Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Lakhwinder Singh performed Gurbani Kirtan while Bhai Kulwinder Singh offered prayers on this eve.

Sri Harmandir Sahib’s head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh read the sacred Hukamnama. Khalsa’s son Bhai Amiteshwar Singh was given turbans by the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, Head Granthi Jagtar Singh, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal and others.

On this occasion, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal announced to install Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa’s portrait in the Central Sikh Museum. “We will deliberate to establish a memorial of Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa once the ongoing circumstances improve,” he said while adding that Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa will always be missed.

SGPC appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said that Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa was shining star of Gurmat Sangeet. He added that the Akal Takht will also deliberate upon giving deserved honor to Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa.

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh also sent a condoling message in which he has announced to name upcoming ITI in Lohian after Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa. Notably, Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa hailed from Lohian.

Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma, Dal Baba Bidhi Chand chief Baba Avtar Singh, Shiromani Raagi Sabha, Kavishar and Dhadi etc. also gave turbans to Khalsa’s son Amiteshwar Singh.
