Punjabis stuck in Delhi complete quarantine period; DSGMC asks Punjab CM to take them back

NEW DELHI, India—Around 250 Punjabi people stuck in Delhi have completed their quarantine period but still they are unable to return back to their homes in Punjab. Notably, these Punjabis had gathered at Gurdwara Majnu Ka Tilla on March 28 and were quarantined by the Delhi government on April 1.

DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa has appealed the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh to make arrangements for bringing these Punjabis back to Punjab. “We are even ready facilitate our buses for sending back these people, but at least the Punjab government should take up the matter with Delhi government while seeking permission,” he said.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa also cited the UP government’s responsible behavior which took back all its students from Kota (Rajasthan) by sending 500 special buses.

“These people are facing a lot of problems due to health and other issues so it is the need of hour to make these people reach their homes at the earliest,” Sirsa said while adding that some of these people also have to harvest their crops.

‪I urge Captain Amarinder Singh ji to take responsibility of nearly 250 people stuck in Delhi who completed quarantine period as well‬‪They want to come back to their homes in Punjab & Punjab Govt should make arrangement just like UP Govt did for students of UP stuck in Kota ‬
