:dateline:The Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala has demanded the immediate release of Sikh youths arrested by the Punjab police just for favoring Nihangs in Patiala incident. Notably, several Sikh youths including journalist Bhupinder Singh Sajjan have been arrested by the Punjab police following April 12�s Patiala incident in which the Nihangs had chopped off the hand of an ASI Harjeet Singh.
Speaking to Sikh24, SYFB�s vice president Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal said that the Punjab police has oppressed the fundamental right of speech and expression by arresting these Sikh youths. He added that it seems like Police is ruling the state due to which innocent people are being framed under irrelevant sections of various laws.
�All the Sikh youths arrested just for manifesting different opinion should be released immediately after dropping all the charges against them,� he demanded.
It is noteworthy here that scores of Sikh youths namely Bhupinder Singh Sajjan, Davinder Singh Mukerian, Jasveer Singh Mann, Parminder Singh Khalsa, Richi Singh, Varinderpal Singh, Jasvir Singh Chaulang etc. have been arrested by the police just for expressing their opinion in favor of Nihangs.
