399th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Celebrated

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Sri Akhand Path Sahib was culminated at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mehal (Amritsar Sahib), the birth place of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji on the eve of 399th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. Hazoori Ragi of Sachkhand Sri Harmadir Sahib Bhai Harbhinder Singh and his jatha recited Gurbani Kirtan after the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.

The entire program was kept very simple due to the current circumstances. SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal and head granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh specially attended this program.

During the program, Singh Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh gave the message to sangat to follow the teachings of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and hoped to get rid of the pandemic of corona virus soon with the blessings of Guru Sahib.

At this occasion, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal said that we are fortunate that we have got an opportunity to celebrate 400th birth ceremony of Guru Sahib in our times. “No doubt, events dedicated to 400th birth ceremony were to begun on big level today, but due to the current circumstances the expectations couldn’t turn into reality,” Longowal said.

He also said that when situation will become normal then SGPC will plan the events to be held.

A special display of historic Sikh artifacts was held at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai on this occasion.

SGPC senior vice president Rajinder Singh Mehta, Ajayab Singh Abhiasi, Amarjit Singh Bhalaipur, Chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh, secretary Manjit Singh, Personal secretary Mohinder Singh Ahli, Additional secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhura Kohna, Sakattar Singh, Manager Mukhtar Singh, Darshan Singh P.A., Rajinder Singh Ruby, Gura Singh, Baba Satnam Singh, Baba Sucha Singh were present  in this program.
