Seven Nihang Singhs arrested after brutal attack on Police cops in Sanaur�s vegetable market

:dateline:In a shocking incident today, four Nihang Singhs attacked police cops with sharp-edged weapons in the vegetable market situated on Patiala road in Sanaur. In this attack, wrist of an Assistant Sub-Inspector got chopped off while six other cops got injured seriously.

A video of this attack went viral over social media in which the Nihang Singhs could be seen trying to enter the vegetable market after breaking the barricade. When the cops tried to surround their vehicle, a Nihang Singh suddenly came out and ambushed upon the cops standing there with a sharp-edged weapon. He also injured several others including the local SHO with his sharp-edged weapons.

After this, all these Nihangs fled from the vegetable market while the injured cop was immediately rushed to Rajindra Hospital from where he was referred to PGI, Chandigarh.

It is learnt that the police have arrested seven Nihangs after surrounding Gurdwara Khichri Sahib after an initial standoff. One of them got injured in police firing after which he was taken to Hospital.

Confirming the development, Punjab�s special chief secretary KBS Sidhu said that five were involved in the attack on police officials.

Patiala IG Jatinder Aulakh, who headed this operation to arrest Nihang Singhs, said that police have recovered intoxicants and weapons from the rooms adjacent to the Gurdwara�where the accused were staying.
