Ban on entry of devotees into Sri Harmandir Sahib?

:dateline:The District Administration of Amritsar is learnt to have banned the entry of devotees into Sri Harmandir Sahib. It has come to fore that the devotees were not allowed to enter into Sri Darbar Sahib premises today.

Speaking with Sikh24, Amritsar resident Upkar Singh Sandhu informed that he goes to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib daily during Amrit Vela (crack of dawn). Today, I had to return back despite reaching the main entrance gate of Sri Harmandir Sahib, he said while adding that no one was being allowed to enter into Sri Darbar Sahib premises.

It is pertinent to note here that the Indian government had directed the managements of countrywide religious places to ban entry of devotees on April 9, but the local Sikhs of Amritsar were thronging to Sri Harmandir Sahib after undergoing thermal screening at clock tower gate of the holiest Sikh shrine.

A local journalist, who works for a vernacular Punjabi newspaper, brought this routine in the notice of administration intentionally or unintentionally by publishing a report and then highlighting it over social media on April 11.

On April 12, the administration didnt allow anyone to enter into Sri Harmandir Sahib.
