Pilgrims stuck at Hazoor Sahib stage protest against Punjab, Maharashtra and Central governments

:dateline:On April 4, the pilgrims stuck at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib staged protest against the Punjab, Maharashtra and Central governments for not taking any action to send them back to their homes. Notably, more than two thousand pilgrims had stuck at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib during sudden lockdown imposed in India last month.

It is learnt that the state governments of Bihar, Delhi etc. have rescued their citizens while the Punjab government has not taken any action despite repeated requests by these pilgrims.

The outraged pilgrims staged protest while loudly shouting slogans against the Punjab, Maharashtra and Central governments inside and outside Gurdwara complex. They demanded that they should be rescued immediately.

Speaking with Sikh24, Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib Management official Davinder Pal Singh informed that they have written letters to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah as well as Maharashtra CM Udhav Thackerey seeking three trains for sending back these pilgrims. We are ready to provide food and other services for these pilgrims in these trains, he added.

On the other hand, Kaar Sewa chiefs Baba Narinder Singh and Baba Balwinder Singh have informed that they have prepared 13 double-decker trailers for sending back these pilgrims to Punjab but they are unable to send them back as the borders of other states have been sealed.
