Gopal Singh Chawla booked for illegally occupying land of Nankana Sahib

LAHORE, Punjab—A revenue official of Nankana Sahib named Asif Chadar has lodged a complaint against the former PSGPC general secretary Gopal Singh Chawla, Jashaan Ali and Ibrar Ahmad for illegally occupying the land of Nankana Sahib which is being managed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board. It is learnt that a case has been registered in Nankana Sahib police station under sections 447/511.

In the complaint, Asif Chadar has accused Gopal Singh Chawla and two others of threatening him when he asked them to stop construction on illegally occupied land of ETPB land worth Rupees 3 million near Amla Karmawala Morh.

“The illegal occupiers of land didn’t stop construction after which the local SHO arrested laborers at 9 pm on the complaint of D.P.O Ismail Kharak,” he informed.

On the other hand, Gopal Singh Chawla has refuted the allegations leveled against him and has accused the Asif Chadar of selling the land of Gurdwara Nankana Sahib in an illegal way by colluding with ETPB officials. He has sought action against the revenue official Asif Chadar.
