SGPC ready to rehabilitate Afghan Sikhs if they come to India

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has announced to make arrangements for the rehabilitation of Afghan Sikhs if they come to India. Beside it, the SGPC has also announced to make arrangements for the education of their children and employment for them according to their eligibility.

In a formal press note released on March 28, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the Indian government also needs to take steps to ensure security Afghan Sikhs.

Longowal has said that the Sikhs living in Afghanistan are living their lives under panic as they feel insecure there. He has asked the Indian government to take this issue sensitively and make efforts to bring Afghan Sikhs to India.

“The SGPC is ready to offer every kind of possible assistance to Afghan Sikhs if they immigrate to India,” he added.
