SGPC sends back pilgrims stuck at Sri Harmandir Sahib

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—On March 26, the SGPC departed five special buses for Delhi, Rajpura and Karnal to send the devotees back to their homes who had stuck in Sri Harmandir Sahib due to the  curfew imposed in Punjab and lockdown in entire country because of coronavirus.

Mohinder Singh Ahli,  the personal secretary of SGPC president and Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Jaswinder Singh Deenpur, said that the sangat of Delhi and Haryana was staying at Sri Harmandir Sahib due to sudden imposition of curfew because all modes of transport were suspended in this situation. “Two out of these five buses have been sent to Delhi, two to Karnal and one to Rajpura,” he added.

He further said that the pilgrims were instructed to follow full precautionary measures during their journey.
