:dateline:Amid inclining coronavirus outbreak in Punjab, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has made it clear that there is no chance of banning the entrance of devotees into holiest Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib.
On being contacted by media, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal said that the SGPC was taking full precautions to control the spread of this pandemic. “We are distributing masks free of cost outside Sri Darbar Sahib and the devotees are being provided the facility of sanitizing hands before entering into Sri Darbar Sahib,” he added.
“The SGPC cannot even think of banning the entrance of devotees into Sri Harmandir Sahib,” Longowal clarified.
Longowal informed that the SGPC was currently focusing on the upcoming celebrations of the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur under which a religious procession will begin from Gurdwara Guru Ke Mehal (Amritsar) next month. “This religious procession will traverse all the countrywide places traversed by Guru Teg Bahadur Ji during his life,” he added.
