Amid coronavirus outbreak, SGPC comes up with special arrangements at Sri Harmandir Sahib

:dateline:Taking a precautionary measure to stop spread of coronavirus, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has started providing free sanitizing service to devotees. The devotees entering through all the five doors of Sri Harmandir Sahib complex are being provided service to sanitize their hands along with an additional hand sanitizing facility at the entrance of sanctum sanctorum.

Interacting with media, SGPC’s chief Dr. Roop Singh informed that special care is being taken to maintain cleanliness throughout the campus. “The sewadars have been specially instructed to maintain an adequate distance between the devotees standing in queues to pay obeisance at sanctum sanctorum or sitting in rows for partaking langar,” he informed.

Dr. Roop Singh further informed that earlier around 50 devotees used to partake langar in a single lane but now maximum 25 devotees are being allowed to sit in same space. He added that a special care is also being taken care in cooking section of Sri Guru Ram Dass Langar.

“We have thoroughly sanitized the parikarma as well as all other usually touchable places in Sri Darbar Sahib complex,” he said.
