Dont shake hand, say Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

:dateline:Amid Coronavirus outbreak in India, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has appealed the Sikh masses to live their lives as per Sikh ethos. The SGPC has advised the Sikhs to wish each other Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh rather than shaking hands.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, SGPCs chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh has said that the SGPC has stopped biometric attendance in all the SGPC run institutions as a preventive measure to stop spreading of coronavirus.

A special care is also being given towards the cleansing of premises as well as the wet clothes, he added.

Citing a verse ??? ??? ???? ?? ???? ???????? ?? ?? ???? ??????? from Rehatnama, Dr. Roop Singh said that it was mandatory for every true Sikh to recite Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh while meeting other Sikhs.

He further said that the SGPC has decided to open a special ward and ICU at Sri Guru Ram Dass Medical College and Hospital, Amritsar.
