Sikh boy forced remove turban in Madhya Pradesh Board’s Class XII examination

BHOPAL, Madhya Pradesh—On March 2, a Sikh boy appearing for Class XII examination was reportedly forced to take off his turban in district Dhar of Madhya Pradesh. It is learnt that the district authorities have removed the guilty assistant head of examination centre from exam-related duties.

In a complaint lodged to the district authorities, the victim student informed that he tried to resist and apprised the centre head about this but he was told that this was the examination process prescribed by the MP education board. “This humiliation disturbed my mind and I couldn’t perform well in my exam,” he added.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the local Sikhs have sought action against the teacher who made the student remove his turban.
